The Rising Sun Travel cup is a symbol of light, giving us the energy and strength we need to display our true nature to the world around us

The Rising Sun is a beautiful and constant daily reminder from nature that every day is a new beginning and no matter what is happening in our lives we can always start again, no two sun rises are the same,  just like each day of our life.

Every day we have a clean slate and we all need to look to the light to grow, to be our authentic and original self and face the world each day with enthusiasm, energy gratitude, courage and determination to move forward.

For thousands of years the sun has been known as a sacred symbol across cultures and religions and is the heart of our physical and spiritual world, the ancient yoga practice of the Sun Salutation is a testament to this and many ancient structures pay tribute to a Sun God,  Machu Picchu have a sun gate which the summer solstice is known to rise through the gates of.

Take a moment each day while sipping from your cup to breathe in the warmth and majestic nature of the rising sun because it’s truly golden and full of prosperity. If you blink and close your eyes to the wonder around us, you might just miss witnessing something truly beautiful

With every ceramic travel cup I donate a portion of each sale to the organisation One Tree Planted. Every year over a billion coffee cups are thrown out in Australia alone. By reusing these coffee cups you are not only helping to reduce this number, but with every cup purchased a tree will be planted by onetreeplanted.org

One Tree Planted work with reforestation organisations around the world, helping local communities restore forests. Your coffee cup can help in so many positive ways. The trees planted help clean the air, provide access to clean water, restore habitat, provide jobs, health and remove carbon from the atmosphere.
Ceramic cup come with a eco food safe silicone lid. These lids and sleeve are microwave and hot and cold wash safe.

These cups are wheel thrown to the exact specifications for the silicone lid to fit. The cups have either finger buttons or a silicone band to reduce the heat transfer and make them comfortable to hold when filled with a hot liquid. I use a variety of clays, glazes, tissue transfers, wax resist, carvings, gold lustre, free hand painting and sgraffito to get the different finishes. Each cup is unique.

All items are handmade with love over a number of weeks and fired in my studio in Thornlands in South East Queensland. The clay does not like to be rushed and needs time to dry slowly as each step in the making process is completed.
I love to wheel thrown and also to hand build, so often use a combination of techniques. The glazes I made are all hand made using tried and tested recipes, as well as my own recipes I have created to get the colours and textures I desired. The majority of finishes I use have a number of glazes layered over each other to create a unique, one off original finish.
Food safe. Dishwasher safe but hand wash recommended. Gold Lustre is not microwave or dishwasher safe.
